Christ Lives In Me

Dear Church Family,
I’ve recently been challenged by a phrase in a verse in Paul’s letter to the
Galatians. The verse is found in the second chapter of his letter. Galatians
2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but
Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the
Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” There are many
powerful phrases in this verse but the one that has challenged me recently
is the phrase “Christ who lives in me.” Paul talks a lot about being in Christ
but here he says that Christ is in him. This is an encouraging truth for many
reasons. One is that we’re never alone. If you’re a Christian then Christ is
in you. You have the special presence of God within you. Another
encouraging truth is that Christ in you enables you to live for God. Christ
provides us with divine influence and empowerment to say no to sin and
yes to God. The life we now live in the flesh we live by faith in the Son of
God. We are in Christ but Christ is also in us. I hope this powerful truth
encourages and challenges you like it has been encouraging and
challenging me.
