Dear Church Family,
Who are you thankful for? There’s probably someone in your life that is special to you and when you think of them you’re thankful for them. One of the reasons you’re thankful for them is not only for what they give you but because of who they are. In many places in the Psalms, we are told to give thanks to the Lord. For example, Psalm 95:1-3 says…
1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3 For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
We usually say “thank you” to the Lord when we receive something good and that’s an appropriate response. But the Psalmist is telling us that we should give thanks not only for what we’ve received but for who God is. We should be thankful for the character of God. Take some time this month to thank God not only for what He has given you but for who He is.
