Steps of Faith for the New Year

Dear Church Family,
I love Christmas and I love moving into a new year! I look forward to both for different reasons.
Christmas provides special opportunities to gather with family and friends, to sing songs that
carry with them great memories and truth, and to reflect on the incarnation.
Moving into the new year provides an opportunity to evaluate and dream. It causes me to
evaluate the previous year and dream about what the new year could look like. As we look
back, let’s give thanks to God for all He has done for us. As we look forward, let’s ask the Lord
what He would have us do. What steps of faith can we take in our personal health, in our
marriages, in our parenting, in our grandparenting, in our work, in our education, in our
ministries?
I want to challenge you to come up with a concrete, practical step that you can take in the
month of January in one or more of these areas. Let’s trust God together to grow us into the
people He wants us to be.
